Ràðagerdi Hostel. Aðalstræti 31 Patreksfjörður 450. +354 456 0181 stay@radagerdi.com

Ráðagerði Hostel is located in the fishing village of Patreksfjörður in the West Fjords of Iceland. The house flanks the extreme cliff overlooking the town and thus has spectacular views over the the fjord.

Ráðagerði is owned by Alda Davíðsdóttir and Davíð Rúnar Gunnarsson, the owners of cafe Sjóræningjahúsið, The House of Pirates, in Patreksfjörður. The hostel counts eight rooms, a dining room, and a sitting room. All are furnished with home textiles from Scintilla, the design company of Ráðagerðis previous owners. Scintilla offers products such as bedding, tablecloths, towels, pillows and more. Scintilla items can be purchased at the hostel.

The house is one of the prominent historical dwellings in Patreksfjörður. It was finished in 1945 and got its name "Ráðagerði" or in english "clever plan" from being ingenious on how to find materials during a time of war. Patreksfjörður is the perfect base to explore the West Fjords: from the cliffs of Látrabjarg where the notorious Puffin nests, to the unique red beaches of Rauðasandur, or the waterfall of Dynjandi.

The hostel is open all year.
