Rįšagerši Hostel is located in the fishing village of Patreksfjöršur in the West Fjords of Iceland. The house flanks the extreme cliff overlooking the town and thus has spectacular views over the the fjord.
Rįšagerši is owned by Alda Davķšsdóttir and Davķš Rśnar Gunnarsson, the owners of cafe Sjóręningjahśsiš, The House of Pirates, in Patreksfjöršur. The hostel counts eight rooms, a dining room, and a sitting room. All are furnished with home textiles from Scintilla, the design company of Rįšageršis previous owners. Scintilla offers products such as bedding, tablecloths, towels, pillows and more. Scintilla items can be purchased at the hostel.
The house is one of the prominent historical dwellings in Patreksfjöršur. It was finished in 1945 and got its name "Rįšagerši" or in english "clever plan" from being ingenious on how to find materials during a time of war. Patreksfjöršur is the perfect base to explore the West Fjords: from the cliffs of Lįtrabjarg where the notorious Puffin nests, to the unique red beaches of Raušasandur, or the waterfall of Dynjandi.
The hostel is open all year.
